To my teammates and my friends:

Hi guys,

I hope everyone Is doing well, today I am sharing this article to give you a heads up about my situation here and how I am going to end my first year at AIC. It is a really frustrating time for all of us, that is why I needed to express myself to free my mind.

I am going to start talking about our Nationals. We were in Birmingham, Alabama for 2 days, everything was just perfect, our bodies and minds have been working so hard for this and were willing to fight and go for something great. Within a minute, everything was over, our championship just got cancelled the day before it starts, our spring season has been canceled, our classes will be remotely, our university will close their doors and now we had to deal with this unprecedented and really brutal situation…Our expectations were just so high, we had a really talented team, possibly 13 All-Americans…Just saying…

Before leaving, we had a nice party with « the French Connection » (that is how we called a bench of stupid French guys), it was really cool to share those moments together and I am going to miss you so bad. I have to admit, I have made some truly good friends during this bad time which is the only good point of this adventure. Back to Springfield the following day with nothing in my mind, no motivation, literally nothing, I had no idea where I was going to stay, how our lives will look like, it was a lot of questions in my head.

After arguing with Benoit for hours and even days about leaving or staying here we decided to come back in our country and do our quarantine over there. Within 30 minutes, the price of flights increased from $500 to $1400 which meant I will stay here anyway.

I just want to say what I am thinking about those kind of business decisions, we wanted to use only a French Company to come back in case of any issues happen during the trip, but trying to make profit on your citizens like they tried, to me it is unforgivable. Getting back in our apartment was a really tough moment, we just spent the whole evening trying to figure out what should we do, but our main concern was to see our teammates…We just did not want to end the year without saying good bye.

I have to say, throughout the year our team became a beautiful family, they pushed me the whole season, had some bad and good times but mostly some unforgettable times together. It is during those kind of situations that you realize how a team may be important to your balance and routine as an athlete. I wish having the same moments together, I wish everyone’s family will be fine, I wish you guys all the best, to you seniors and leaders in this team, I hope you guys will be able to get a full year of eligibility back to finish what we have started together and I really can’t wait to see you again, the sooner it will be the better would be.

Never forget this: Stay hungry, our times will come.

I love you all guys, take care and we’ll see next year!
